Sunk in the Trunk Sunk in the Trunk Sunk in the Trunk Sunk in the Trunk

Le Trunk collectif also offers:

  • Theatrical Games and Clown workshops (ages 8-88)
    • Through games and theatrical exercises inspired by The LeCoq and The Boal techniques, participants explore the art of clowning. Simplicity, creativity and participation are very important in these workshops. Over the years we have turned an efficient piece of red electrical tape into the classic clown nose and used kitchen ware as important teaching tools. These workshops will help participants use their imagination to tell stories with everyday objects and feel comfortable on stage so they can learn the art of the red nose in a easy and accessible way.
These workshops are offered in two versions, a short version (1 to 2 hours) and a long version (1 to 2 days).
    • The short version
In this short version participants explore basic elements of the art of clowning such as timing and rhythm, the red nose, the white and red clown, the focus and the silence of the clown. The workshop begins with introductory games where they get warmed up to the idea of participating and opening up to an audience.
Students will also be taught to discover elements such as imitating, repeating, exaggerating and inventing languages through practical theatre exercises.
Students will be introduced to games where they will learn about onomatopoeia, rhythm and concentration.
Each element has a game that makes the exercise easier for students to comprehend.
    • The long version
The long version explores the same elements as the short version but with more time. Students will also have the opportunity to work on simple clown numbers in duos and as a group. They are encouraged to explore themes that are important to them and to create interactions with their fellow clowns. Brief extract of my play “Sunk in the Trunk” along with, extracts of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin are used to inspire kids to have fun with their clown.
    • BEWARE: These workshops were designed to be entertaining and educational.
  • We are open to other activities such as round tables, public conversations and other propositions.
